I have long wanted to write a post expressing my love for baseball, until I read Kevin DeYoung’s article this morning entitled, “Our National Pastime.” Aside from Kevin’s misguided devotion to the White Sox of Chicago, his words express my sentiments profoundly. If you aren’t a baseball fan, repent. If you are, read Kevin’s blog at www.gospelcoalition.org and enjoy his elegant insights into the greatest game ever conceived by man. As for me, my vacation this summer is already set in stone. I’ll be in Kansas City for a week watching five Royals games and in Arlington, Texas, for a few days cheering my beloved Rangers.

Play ball!

Good comment Michael Taylor! Believe Sam to be of the right stuff to become a citizen of Red Sox Nation. My Pastor Michael Lawrence of Hinson Baptist here on the left coast, the OTHER Portland, in Oregon, is also a member of The Nation. We're everywhere!

Greetings from Massachusetts,

Jonathan Edwards was a "wicked awesome" theologian, and now that he is in heavenly glory, a member of the mystical body of RED SOX nation!

Since Sam is an Edwards fan, perhaps he might consider honorary citizenship in Red Sox nation?

Sam, Sam, Sam. The Royals? The Rangers? The GREATEST team in The GREATEST team sport opens today in Baltimore, the DEFENDING World Champion Boston Red Sox! Go Sox! Repeat in the works!
