Last week I announced that my new commentary on Romans (Baker Academic) is available for pre-order at Amazon. This week I am happy to announce that my new commentary on Revelation (Mentor Books) is also available for pre-order. It should arrive by early November. My personal copies arrived yesterday, and I must say that the people at Christian Focus (Mentor) have done a beautiful job in producing this hardback commentary. It is titled, Our God Reigns: An Amillennial Commentary on Revelation (545 pages).
If the book of Revelation has been an impenetrable mystery to you, I believe my commentary will open it up and leave you breathless as you discover the purposes of God in history. It truly is a story of how Our God Reigns.
Here is what it says on the cover.
“Revelation was written in such a way that it should be not only intelligible to any Christian who reads or hears its words, but also a blessing to the person who obeys and believes what it says. Simply put, contrary to popular opinion, and notwithstanding the often bizarre and mysterious images it conveys, God intends for Revelation to be understandable, edifying, and enjoyable!
Scholarly but conversational in style, Storms has written for those who do not have a working knowledge of Greek but does not shy away from the numerous important technical and exegetical details that appear all through Revelation. He provides insight into both the nuances of the Greek text and the deep doctrinal issues in Revelation in such a way that the average Christian adult can grasp.
Revelation is profoundly relevant to the issues we face in our society today and Storms keeps the welfare of the church in view, as he includes numerous applications for daily living and growth in your personal relationship with God. An excellent read for those looking to better grasp the blessings to be found in understanding this book.”
Tom Schreiner, professor of NT at Southern Seminary in Louisville, writes this endorsement:
“Sam Storms has written an accessible, faithful, and pastorally applicable commentary on Revelation. Unfortunately too many works on Revelation, especially in more popular form, are lacking in exegetical rigor. Storms has written a commentary that educated readers can understand, and at the same time it is informed by careful scholarship. We need to hear the message of Revelation in our churches, and Storms’s commentary aids us in that task.”
Brian Tabb, President of Bethlehem College and Seminary in Minneapolis, writes as follows:
“Sam Storms presents the book of Revelation as edifying, enjoyable, and immensely relevant for the church today. This commentary uniquely blends exegetical insight, theological depth, pastoral application, and passionate worship. Storms is a trustworthy guide to John’s apocalyptic visions, which stirs our minds and hearts to live for Christ while longing for the beauty and blessings of the age to come.”
Read and rejoice in the confident assurance that notwithstanding the mess in our world today, Our God Reigns!
